    I have bought and read several books on IF, and did not think I would necessarily find any new information, but the reviews were outstanding, so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did! For one, I think women tend to not do as well as men on this (or probably any) weight loss regime. We have to just accept that as the hand we are dealt. I really liked that this author had not only lost weight on this diet, but that she at first did NOT lose weight on this and had to tinker with it and find the right mix of IF options to make it successful for her. There are many options for IF, but combining the options that were doable for her long term is brilliant. It seems such a simple idea, but I am not sure I would have thought of doing it in quite the way that she did. Most of all, I liked the fact that she emphasized finding the option that one can do long term and possibly for life. Nothing is going to work unless we can incorporate these options into our life, so we have to be honest with ourselves about what we are really willing to do long-term, not just a quick fix for the next big event we would like to look better for. I am still grappling with trying to do the option that will net me the most weight lost in the soonest amount of time, but again and again, she points out the folly of this and then encourages the reader to be honest about his or her ability to do these things long term.

    I like that this book was written by a female, by a person who has been unsuccessful for a time, and who finally put it all together for herself in a successful way, then decided to share this information with those who also struggled with mixed results on IF. There is no fluff in this book. There are no detailed descriptions of why this diet is a good option. These can be found everywhere. There are just all the options of IF, along with what the author has discovered through her only trial and error, her own lack of results, tinkering, and then the results that she feels she can live with (and LOSE with) over the long-term. She is now at her perfect weight, but still has developed a maintenance program that keeps her at this weight. That is so very important. As she says, any diet will allow you to lose, but again and again she emphasizes the need to find the option that not only helps you lose enough to keep you motivated, but also what is doable for the duration of getting down to your target weight, and also what option can keep you at that weight.

    This is well worth the money as it put the IF options together in a very ingenious way, from a person who knows whereof she speaks. Buy this book if you have tried IF and been disappointed, or even if you are fuzzy on the many options of IF.

    I am so glad I took a chance on this book and I think you will be also.

    I have been on and off various alternate day diets. What I love about this book is she makes it seem easy!! I definitely agree on saving your 500 calories till your evening meal, you look great and a lot leaner than eating early. I’m not really overweight at 123 and 5’3″ but I do look and feel better at 110 so I’ll update soon on my progress. PS I love the fact she has the milk in the coffee and tea because I couldn’t do it without it.

    This is a great little book. It is very concise and to the point. It has everything you need to get you started on the Fast Diet including several low calorie recipes and a list of foods with calorie contents. Now I have read it I am looking forward to achieving my weight loss goals doing 5:2.
