South Beach Phase 2 – Food List

Congratulations you made it past Phase 1!

The south beach diet is pretty flexible. When you reach phase 2 you can carry on eating what was successful in phase 1 and add in any of the following foods.

Foods you can eat on south beach phase 2

  • Fruit – 1 or 2 pieces a day
  • Dairy – 2 or 3 cups per day, including low fat and zero fat yogurt
  • Whole grains and starchy vegetables, three servings daily
  • Alcohol! 1 serving per day. Beer must be light

As a general rule you should avoid starchy foods such as bread, white rice and potatoes and you should avoid canned fruits. You can however eat basmati rice as it isn’t as starchy and is low in fat.

I know we have specified above that you can drink alcohol but in reality if you can avoid it you should.

  • Rolls
  • Oatmeal
  • Regular Beer
  • Potatoes
  • Canned fruit
  • Ice cream
  • Liqueurs
