Steak and eggs
The American classic, you can’t go wrong.
- 1 Steak
- 2 Eggs
- Olive oil
- Sea salt
The first thing to do is to let your steak sit at room temperature, around 30 minutes should do it but longer if you can wait!
Season the steak with a little sea salt and add a little olive oil to a frying pan. heat the pan up on a high heat and then lay the steak in, fry for 4 minutes on each side, depending how you like it.
Take the steak out of the pan and set aside, cover with a towel and let it rest while you fry your eggs.
Add a little more olive oil to the pan and crack your two eggs into the pan. Fry until browned on the bottom.
Put your steak on a plate, lay your two fried eggs on top and tuck in. A fantastic paleo meal.
A Fry Up
Who doesn’t like a fry up?
- Olive oil
Im not really sure that this needs an explanation but here goes. Start with your sausages as these will take longer to cook. fry your sausages in a little olive oil then after a couple of minutes add the bacon to the pan. The mushrooms go in next and fry until almost cooked then add the spinach.
Serve on a plate and enjoy!
Lunch box snacks
Finding lunch box ideas for the paleo diet can seem difficult but it just takes a little imagination. Bacon, sausage and boiled eggs can all be prepared before hand and eaten cold.
Carrots make a great lunch box paleo snack but you can also make a kind of omelet and onion roll. Get an egg and whisk it. fry some finely chopped onions in olive oil until soft and then add the egg. Fry it all like you would an omelet but very thinly spread.
Fry until set but still pliable and then lay a slice of ham onto the omelet and roll the whole lot into a kind of wrap. This can be eaten hot for breakfast or left to cool and eaten later for lunch.
Remember that most meats, fruit and veg can be eaten on the Paleo diet so mix it up a little, keep it interesting.
