What is Paleo?
Paleo is a diet where you revert back to your roots…Right back to the caveman days in fact and it is in fact known as paleolithic diet or caveman diet.
You will only eat foods that can be hunted and foraged. Just like our hairy ancestors used to do back in the day.
So what can you eat?
Lots of meat and fish is on the menu as are vegetables, seeds and fruit.
It actually sounds simple enough, almost like an everyday diet anyway but one thing you need to realize is that our cave dwelling ancestors didn’t farm their foods so you can’ t have things like dairy, sugar, wheat, cereal, mars bars, m&m’s….Or anything that is processed or farmed.
The Paleo diet is a low carb, high protein diet with meat eaters seeing a definite benefit!
Meat is very much at the center of Paleo diet as well as plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. You could have a BBQ every day and stick to this diet!
Although general belief is that more red meat leads to heart disease, studies have shown the Paleo diet to actually reduce heart disease by forcing the dieter to eat lots more fresh veg and fruit.
Definitely not one for the vegetarians but it works and it may be easier to stick to due to the high meat intake.

You can eat:
- Fresh fruits and veg
- Nuts and seeds
- Some oils
You cant eat:
- Cereal grains
- Legumes (including peanuts)
- Refined sugar
- Processed foods
- Refined oils
Paleo Diet Recipes
This weight loss scheme is incredibly easy to follow. You just need to stick to food that our cavemen ancestors had access to.
Pork, lamb and burgers are all on the menu but you need to make sure that not of it is processed. So this means ensure that your burgers dont have any salt or refined oil. Make them yourself to be sure.
One problem a lot of Paleo dieters have is breakfast. What do you eat if you cant have cereal or toast???
