    This book really lives up to its title, and is a thorough description of the paleo diet. The concept of paleo may seem a little silly, going back to what a caveman would eat, but the application means you end up eating fewer processed foods. Another benefit is that you avoid empty calories from soda and juices. These are easy, low-hanging objectives that make sense for anyone who wants to become more healthy or just lose weight. This book has a complete list of which foods are good for paleo and which foods to avoid, and some recipes in the back to start you on your paleo journey.

    The subtitle really says it all, “Everything You Need to Know About the Paleo Diet.” This book not only goes over what the paleo diet is, it explains why it is the right diet for humans. Far too many people take diets at their word rather than investigating them and finding out what the principles are behind them. This book not only explains the principles behind the Paleo way of eating, it can back them up with cold hard facts! I enjoyed learning why humans shouldn’t eat certain foods and why they should eat others. I think so highly of this book that I began eating a Paleo diet myself the end of March. I didn’t set out to lose weight, I set out to correct the sick feelings that I would always get after every meal. After having my gall bladder taken out in an emergency situation, my struggles only got worse. After the first month of eating the Paleo way, not only has the sick feeling nearly stopped completely, but I have dropped 15 pounds without trying.

    If you are on the fence about getting this book, jump down on the positive side, this way of eating really is everything that they say it is. I rarely get hungry when I am filling myself with good quality snacks, and I eat less food than I did while stuffing my face full of breads and pastas. This really was the game changer for me, I have found my only way to eat from here on out. 5 Stars from me!!!

    My boyfriend just spent a weekend away with some friends from home, and was telling me how two of them are trying out this new ‘caveman’ diet. I figured out pretty quickly that he was talking about the paleo diet, and he was curious to learn more. I figured I’d buy this quick reference book, and loaned it to his kindle. It had all the needed background information and he read through it pretty quickly. He said he’d be up for trying it out for at least a few meals of the week, which is great!! I have such a hard time sticking to diets because I usually cook our dinners and he’s not interested in any of my more stringent diet attempts, so it’ll be excellent to be doing this with him. If it goes well, we might switch over to it completely! 🙂
