Consolidation Phase

The consolidation phase of the Dukan diet is essential. This is the time where you are most likely to slip back into your old routine and pile the weight back on.

You can still eat everything you could on the Cruise phase but with the addition of a few more foods.

You can now eat 1 serving of lamb and roast pork weekly and you may also have uncured cooked ham, you are not limited to extra lean.

The Dukan diet consolidation phase does this by allowing you to have two celebration meals a week and allowing you to introduce more foods into your diet.

Before you go booking yourself into an all you can eat buffet you should know that your celebration meals must be strictly controlled.

For your celebration meal you are allowed 1 appetizer, 1 entrée, 1 dessert and 1 glass of wine.

The consolidation phase must last 5 days for every pound you lost in the cruise stage and you must have only protein on Thursdays.

Just to complicate matters a little further the consolidation phase is broken down into 2 steps.

Step 1

You can add in the following:

  • 1 Serving of fruit per day, excluding bananas, grapes, figs and cherries
  • 2 Slices of wholegrain bread per day
  • 1.5 Ounces of hard rined cheese per week
  • 1 Cup of starchy foods per week
  • 1 Celebration meal per week

Step 2

  • 2 Serving of fruit per day, excluding bananas, grapes, figs and cherries
  • 2 Slices of wholegrain bread per day
  • 1.5 Ounces of hard rined cheese per week
  • 2 Cup of starchy foods per week
  • 2 Celebration meal per week

When can I move onto step 2 I hear you ask. Well the consolidation stage lasts 5 days for every pound lost so if you divide your total days in two this is when you will move from step 1 to step 2.

In addition to the above you should also take a 25 minute walk every Thursday (Protein only day).
